Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, we offer two schedules: Mon/Wed/Fri and Tues/Thurs. Students may attend the entire day from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm on the part-time days selected.
Our tuition includes full-day care from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, nutritious meals (breakfast, lunch, and snack), and all curriculum materials and classroom supplies. Everything your child needs for a full day of learning, care, and engagement is included.
We use Frog Street, a state-approved, nationally recognized curriculum for children ages 2-5, designed to support school readiness through structured, developmentally appropriate learning.
For our infants through 23 months, we use Lillio powered by FunShine, which focuses on early development, nurturing care, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
Absolutely. Preparing children for kindergarten is one of our top priorities. We are proud to have been recognized by the Florida Department of Education as a high-performing program, with our VPK students scoring above expectations. Our curriculum and teaching approach are intentionally designed to ensure children build the academic and social skills needed for a successful transition to kindergarten.
Yes, we provide breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack each day.
We make reasonable accommodations by removing specific items from meals when needed (for example, excluding meat for vegetarian diets).
However, we are unable to provide substitutions or accommodate specialized diets such as vegan diets. Families with more specific dietary needs are welcome to provide meals from home and must adhere to following our food guidelines.
We use the Procare Parent App to keep families connected throughout the day. Parents receive updates and can communicate directly with both teachers and administration as needed.
Each day is thoughtfully structured to balance learning, play, and care.
Children begin with breakfast, followed by circle time, which includes chapel and Bible stories. We then introduce the day’s learning goals before transitioning into small group rotations.
Students rotate through 4-5 learning centers focused on literacy and math skills, including dedicated time in a teacher-led small-group setting (one of the ways we ensure each child receives individualized attention!). Our daily schedule is designed to support academic growth, social development, and overall well-being.
Throughout the day, children also enjoy:
- Two outdoor play sessions (30 minutes each)
- Lunch and a 2-hour rest period
- Afternoon snack
- Music and movement activities
- STEAM-based learning experiences
Our enrollment process is designed to ensure a smooth and prepared start for both children and families.
To complete enrollment, families must:
- Pay the one-time registration fee and annual supply fee
- Complete the enrollment application
- Watch the welcome orientation video
- Submit current immunization records
Once all items are completed, your child’s enrollment can be finalized.

A Family-Owned Academy Committed to Scholarship & Character
As a family-owned academy, Bright Scholars was created for parents who want more than traditional childcare. Our approach combines academic excellence, nurturing care, and Christian character development, helping children build confidence, kindness, and school-ready skills from the very beginning.
Our Innovative Blended Learning Model: Where Play Meets Academics
Our Blended Learning Model combines teacher-led instruction, independent exploration, S.T.E.A.M. integration, and immersive learning experiences. Children build literacy, math, language, and problem-solving skills through structured lessons, purposeful play, hands-on projects, and classroom experiences that make learning memorable.
Why “Preparatory” Means More Than Just Standard Daycare
At Bright Scholars, preparatory means every day is designed with intention. Children are not simply cared for; they are guided, taught, encouraged, and prepared for their next stage of learning through strong routines, academic instruction, faith-based values, and joyful discovery.
Specialized Programs for Every Stage of Development
From infants to VPK, Bright Scholars offers age-specific programs designed to support each stage of early development. Our classrooms balance nurturing care, structured learning, social growth, and hands-on exploration so children can grow with confidence at every age.
Brilliant Babies: Nurturing Infant Care (6 Weeks – 12 Months)
Our Brilliant Babies program provides loving infant care focused on safety, bonding, communication, and early development. Teachers create a calm, nurturing environment with tummy time, music, sensory exploration, one-on-one attention, and daily communication to support each baby’s growth.
Intelligent Ones & Gifted Toddlers: Curiosity-Driven Play (Ages 1-3)
Our toddler programs support growing independence, language development, social skills, and curiosity. Through routines, guided play, music, movement, sensory exploration, early academics, and hands-on centers, children build fine motor skills while learning to communicate, share, and grow with confidence.
Pre-Scholars & Scholars: Advanced Kindergarten Readiness (Ages 3-5)
Our preschool and pre-kindergarten classrooms focus on kindergarten readiness through literacy, phonics, handwriting, math, S.T.E.A.M., social development, and hands-on learning. As one of the area’s STEAM-based daycares, we use structured lessons and small-group instruction to prepare children for school success.
Free Florida VPK: High-Quality Pre-K With Superior Ratios
Bright Scholars offers Florida’s free Voluntary Prekindergarten program for eligible 4-year-olds. Our VPK program supports pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills through purposeful instruction, strong routines, and the personalized support families value in low-ratio daycares.
The S.T.E.A.M. Advantage: Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts & Math
At Bright Scholars, S.T.E.A.M. learning helps children move beyond memorization into curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving. As a daycare with live stream access and S.T.E.A.M.-based learning, we help families stay connected while children ask questions, test ideas, build solutions, and connect lessons to the world around them.
Weekly Hands-On Projects to Promote Critical Thinking
Beginning in our Pre-Scholars program, children participate in weekly S.T.E.A.M. projects that encourage observation, experimentation, and teamwork. Whether building structures, testing materials, or exploring buoyancy, students learn to think critically while having fun with meaningful, hands-on discovery.
Technology Integration: Mobile Labs & Touch-Screen Tablets
Our mobile technology lab gives children purposeful exposure to digital learning tools. Two days per week, classes use touch-screen tablets, child-friendly apps, and educational games to reinforce early literacy, math, hand-eye coordination, and classroom concepts in an age-appropriate way.
Early Literacy & Phonics: Building Confident Future Readers
Early literacy is woven into daily instruction through phonics, language development, storytime, listening comprehension, vocabulary, and reading readiness activities. Students build confidence with letters, sounds, words, and communication skills that support future reading success.
Unmatched Safety, Transparency & Parent Inclusion
Bright Scholars gives families peace of mind through secure systems, strong communication, and open visibility into the classroom experience. From live camera access to parent app updates and thoughtfully designed safety procedures, we help families feel connected, informed, and confident throughout the day.
PBJTV Live Video Streaming: Secure Access to Your Child’s Classroom
Families who want added visibility can access secure live classroom streaming through PBJTV for an additional weekly fee. This transparency helps parents stay connected to their child’s day while reinforcing the trust and partnership we value with every family.
Exceptionally Low Teacher-to-Student Ratios for Personalized Care
Our lower classroom ratios allow teachers to spend more time observing, guiding, and connecting with each child. With more individualized attention, students receive stronger academic support, emotional care, and meaningful relationships throughout the day.
Magnetic Door Locks & Contactless Sign-In/Sign-Out Systems
Our academy is designed with secure access in mind, including magnetic door locks and contactless sign-in/sign-out systems. These safety features help protect the building, streamline arrival and dismissal, and give families greater confidence each day.
Character Education: Rooting Academics in Family Values
At Bright Scholars, academics and character grow together. Our Lake Nona early learning academy blends strong preschool instruction with faith-based values, helping children practice kindness, respect, honesty, forgiveness, and love in daily classroom moments, peer interactions, and teacher-guided lessons.
Teaching Love, Forgiveness & Honesty in the Classroom
Children learn character through Bible stories, prayer, songs, role-playing, and everyday guidance. Teachers help students practice loving their friends, making kind choices, asking for forgiveness, and understanding honesty in ways that feel age-appropriate and meaningful.
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Using the FrogStreet Curriculum
Our FrogStreet Curriculum supports social-emotional learning through connection, self-regulation, classroom routines, and positive interactions. Students practice calming strategies, communication, friendship skills, and emotional awareness while building the confidence they need for kindergarten prep school success.
