Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, we offer two schedules: Mon/Wed/Fri and Tues/Thurs. Students may attend the entire day from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm on the part-time days selected.
Our tuition includes full-day care from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, nutritious meals (breakfast, lunch, and snack), and all curriculum materials and classroom supplies. Everything your child needs for a full day of learning, care, and engagement is included.
We use Frog Street, a state-approved, nationally recognized curriculum for children ages 2-5, designed to support school readiness through structured, developmentally appropriate learning.
For our infants through 23 months, we use Lillio powered by FunShine, which focuses on early development, nurturing care, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
Absolutely. Preparing children for kindergarten is one of our top priorities. We are proud to have been recognized by the Florida Department of Education as a high-performing program, with our VPK students scoring above expectations. Our curriculum and teaching approach are intentionally designed to ensure children build the academic and social skills needed for a successful transition to kindergarten.
Yes, we provide breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack each day.
We make reasonable accommodations by removing specific items from meals when needed (for example, excluding meat for vegetarian diets).
However, we are unable to provide substitutions or accommodate specialized diets such as vegan diets. Families with more specific dietary needs are welcome to provide meals from home and must adhere to following our food guidelines.
We use the Procare Parent App to keep families connected throughout the day. Parents receive updates and can communicate directly with both teachers and administration as needed.
Each day is thoughtfully structured to balance learning, play, and care.
Children begin with breakfast, followed by circle time, which includes chapel and Bible stories. We then introduce the day’s learning goals before transitioning into small group rotations.
Students rotate through 4-5 learning centers focused on literacy and math skills, including dedicated time in a teacher-led small-group setting (one of the ways we ensure each child receives individualized attention!). Our daily schedule is designed to support academic growth, social development, and overall well-being.
Throughout the day, children also enjoy:
- Two outdoor play sessions (30 minutes each)
- Lunch and a 2-hour rest period
- Afternoon snack
- Music and movement activities
- STEAM-based learning experiences
Our enrollment process is designed to ensure a smooth and prepared start for both children and families.
To complete enrollment, families must:
- Pay the one-time registration fee and annual supply fee
- Complete the enrollment application
- Watch the welcome orientation video
- Submit current immunization records
Once all items are completed, your child’s enrollment can be finalized.
Redefining Early Childhood Education in St. Cloud, FL
For families in St. Cloud, Bright Scholars offers more than a place for children to spend the day. Our preparatory preschool brings together faith-based care, strong classroom structure, S.T.E.A.M. learning, and meaningful relationships, creating the kind of foundation parents look for in a trusted kindergarten prep school.
A Family-Owned Academy Committed to Scholarship & Character
Bright Scholars was built by a family who believed early education should feel personal, purposeful, and academically strong. Our academy nurtures the whole child by pairing advanced learning with Christian values, helping children develop kindness, confidence, responsibility, and a love for learning.
Our Innovative Blended Learning Model: Where Play Meets Academics
Learning at Bright Scholars happens through a thoughtful balance of instruction and exploration. As one of the area’s STEAM-based daycares, we combine focused lessons, center rotations, S.T.E.A.M. projects, and immersive experiences that strengthen literacy, math, creativity, and problem-solving.
Why “Preparatory” Means More Than Just Standard Daycare
Preparatory care means children are actively taught, supported, and prepared for what comes next. At Bright Scholars, every routine, classroom experience, and moment of guidance is designed to build school readiness, character, independence, and confidence in a low ratio daycare setting.
Character Education: Rooting Academics in Family Values
At Bright Scholars, strong academics are paired with daily character development. Our St. Cloud daycare helps children grow in kindness, respect, honesty, forgiveness, and love through faith-based guidance, classroom routines, peer interactions, and teacher-led conversations.
Teaching Love, Forgiveness & Honesty in the Classroom
Character lessons are woven into each day through prayer, Bible stories, songs, role-playing, and everyday teachable moments. Children learn how to care for others, make kind choices, tell the truth, and ask for forgiveness in age-appropriate ways.
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Using the FrogStreet Curriculum
FrogStreet supports social-emotional growth through routines, connection, self-regulation, and positive classroom relationships. Students practice calming strategies, communication, friendship skills, and emotional awareness while building the confidence they need for kindergarten readiness.
Building a Supportive Community for Central Florida Families
Bright Scholars is designed to feel warm, personal, and connected. We proudly serve families throughout St. Cloud, Kissimmee, Narcoossee, Harmony, Canoe Creek, Stevens Plantation, and nearby communities seeking a values-driven preschool experience.
Specialized Programs for Every Stage of Development
Every age group has different needs, and our programs are designed with that in mind. From infant care to VPK, Bright Scholars provides age-appropriate classrooms where children receive nurturing care, structured learning, social development, and hands-on experiences that support steady growth.
Brilliant Babies: Nurturing Infant Care (6 Weeks – 12 Months)
In our Brilliant Babies classroom, infants receive attentive care in a calm, loving setting. Teachers support early development through tummy time, music, sensory exploration, communication, bonding, and one-on-one interaction, while keeping families connected through daily updates.
Intelligent Ones & Gifted Toddlers: Curiosity-Driven Play (Ages 1-3)
Our toddler classrooms help children build independence while learning how to communicate, share, and explore. Daily routines include music, movement, guided play, early academics, sensory exploration, and hands-on centers that strengthen language, social growth, and fine motor skills.
Pre-Scholars & Scholars: Advanced Kindergarten Readiness (Ages 3-5)
Preschoolers and pre-kindergarten students are introduced to focused academic instruction in literacy, phonics, handwriting, math, S.T.E.A.M., and social development. Through small groups and hands-on learning, children gain the skills and confidence needed for kindergarten success.
Free Florida VPK: High-Quality Pre-K With Superior Ratios
Our free Florida VPK program helps eligible 4-year-olds prepare for kindergarten through pre-reading, pre-math, language development, and social skill-building. With strong routines and smaller classroom ratios, children receive the guidance and attention they need to thrive.
The S.T.E.A.M. Advantage: Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts & Math
S.T.E.A.M. gives children a way to explore big ideas through building, testing, creating, and asking questions. At Bright Scholars, these lessons are woven into a hands-on preschool experience that strengthens curiosity, problem-solving, and confidence while keeping families connected through parent updates and live stream access.
Weekly Hands-On Projects to Promote Critical Thinking
Starting in Pre-Scholars, children take part in weekly S.T.E.A.M. projects designed to spark observation and discovery. They may build, sort, compare, predict, test, and improve their ideas, learning how to think through challenges instead of simply memorizing answers.
Technology Integration: Mobile Labs & Touch-Screen Tablets
Our mobile technology lab introduces digital learning in a purposeful, age-appropriate way. Two days each week, children use touch-screen tablets, educational games, and child-friendly apps to practice early literacy, math, hand-eye coordination, and classroom skills.
Early Literacy Programs & Phonics: Building Confident Future Readers
Reading readiness begins early at Bright Scholars. Through phonics, storytime, vocabulary, listening comprehension, language development, and letter-sound activities, children gain the tools they need to become more confident communicators and future readers.
Safety, Transparency & Parent Connection
Families deserve to feel informed and confident throughout the day. Bright Scholars supports that trust through secure building access, live classroom viewing options, parent app communication, and safety procedures designed to protect children while keeping parents connected.
PBJTV Live Video Streaming: Secure Access to Your Child’s Classroom
Bright Scholars offers secure PBJTV live video streaming for families who want an added window into the classroom. For parents searching for a daycare with live stream access, this optional service helps you stay connected to daily learning, routines, and special moments for an additional weekly fee.
Exceptionally Low Teacher-to-Student Ratios for Personalized Care
Smaller classroom ratios help our teachers know each child well. With more time for observation, guidance, and connection, children receive more individualized academic support, emotional care, and encouragement throughout the day.
Magnetic Door Locks & Contactless Sign-In/Sign-Out Systems
Our safety systems include magnetic door locks and contactless sign-in/sign-out technology. These features support secure building access, smoother arrivals and departures, and added peace of mind for families.
