Classroom Environment
Our infant classroom features LARGE, open floor space with colorful play mats for tummy time, crawling, and exploration. Each baby receives a personal crib outfitted with comfy sheets washed daily. Cribs are safely disinfected at the end of each day. Our teachers sanitize toys and diapering stations after each use to ensure cleanliness and reduce germs. We strategically placed our diapering station facing outward so teachers’ backs are never to the kids; even during diaper changes, our babies are adequately supervised. When parents or any staff member enter the infant suites, shoes must be removed or disposable booties must be used to reduce outside germs.
In addition, each adult must sanitize their hands upon entering the room using our hand foam located at the front door. We offer two infant classrooms to address the developmental age differences of growing babies. We maintain a 1:4 teacher-infant ratio in both classes. Our Brilliant Babies classroom accommodates infants ages 6 weeks – 12 months. Within a small class environment, our teachers establish a loving and nurturing bond with each baby. Lots of hugs, tickles, and giggles are standard in our infant suites.
Curriculum
Personal Care
We ensure our Brilliant Babies receive nurturing, personalized care, combined with engaging learning activities. While in our care, children are stimulated through music, exercise, outdoor blanket time, facial and verbal mimicking, as well as lots of hugs and tickles. Our little ones communicate with us using sign language, which is incorporated daily in infant-teacher dialogue. Flashcards, puppets, and singing are also incorporated to enhance language development.
Diapering & Feeding Time
Diapering and feeding time is not quiet time for us. Teachers use this time to engage in conversation with each baby, providing a great opportunity to help strengthen their communication skills. Also, throughout the day, our highly trained teachers provide 7-10 minute rotations allowing each infant one-on-one time with the teacher at the Rocking Chair station. During this time, the teacher sings lullabies, smiles, and uses oral language to express love, warmth, and communication.
Interactive Rotations
Other rotations include limited play in interactive bouncers, multiple opportunities for tummy time, play, and exploration with manipulatives and toys. Special arts and crafts activities are completed at least twice per month. At the end of each day, parents receive a daily Infant Gram via our ProCare App highlighting diaper changes, feeding and nap times, and special moments captured throughout the day.
Classroom Schedule
A parental daily report is given to update each family on meal and nap times, toilet training and all activities accomplished each day.
